The Client - SCR LEP brings together business leaders and local politicians from across the City Region to make decisions that drive economic growth and create new jobs. In 2015 they secured a £320 million Growth Deal in order to help implement their Strategic Economic Plan (SEP). The plan aims to create 70,000 new private sector jobs and 6000 new businesses over the next ten years.

The Challenge - An integral step towards attaining this goal was the creation of a Sheffield City Region Growth Hub. Many businesses struggle to find the financial support and advice they need to grow. The SCR Growth Hub hope to resolve this problem by becoming the ‘go to’ place for businesses needing advise on available support. Advisors help companies explore the full range of local, City Region and National Support available to them.

Appt were chosen to help develop the Growth Hub brand and online platforms. The platforms needed to

· Communicate what the Growth Hub was

· Help to connect businesses with advisors

· Provide a single source of easily searchable information on available publicly-backed business support

· Capture useful data about the kinds of businesses making enquiries

· Help with the day to day operations of running the Hub

The Solution - Appt worked closely with SCR LEP and Revo Creative to develop the Growth Hub brand, initial front-end website and a backend management portal.

Appt continue to work with SCR LEP to develop the backend management system. This is a vital part of the Growth Hub’s internal operations helping them to: manage advisors and bookings, bill for completed work, manage hot-desk booking
